The Rotastand Solo revolutionises sit to stand and pivot transfers. The patented T bar mechanism in the base allows a sit to stand and pivot transfer to be carried out by a single nurse or carer thus reducing the time it takes to carry out the task as well as halving costs of having two carers/nurses present during the transfer.
The nurse carer does not need to counter balance the Rotastand Solo as the client pulls themselves to a standing position
The nurse carer can now assist the client to stand before rotating the client to a new seated position
Using Your Rotastand
Before using your rotastand adjust the height of the handlebar and the shin pad to suit the patient/client. the shin pad can be moved up or down 40mm by removing the two fixing screw and attaching it using the two alternative fixing holes. The Rota stand can be manoeuvred on its rear wheels and brought to position in front of the patient. Assist the patient to the front of the chair, ready to stand and place the patient feet on the non slip foot plate and gently wheel the Rotastand up to the patient on its central wheel using the footbar provided. The Rota stand should end up with the patients shins firmly against the shin pad. From this position put your foot on the brake in order to stabilise the Rotastand and encourage the patient using the handlebar, to pull themselves into a standing position. If more assistance is required then a second nurse may assist the patient to stand using a handling belt around their waist.
Once in the standing position, take your foot off the brake and gently rotate the the rotastand to the position required and encourage the patient to sit. reversing the above procedure.
